Most shops stock two tiers — Carbon to win the price shopper, a ceramic to upsell comfort. All three carry a lifetime warranty.

VLT (Visible Light Transmission) — how much visible light passes through. 5% is limo-dark; 70% looks nearly clear. It's the number tint laws regulate.

IR (Infrared Rejection) — how much infrared heat the film blocks, measured in the 900–1000nm band. It's the number your customer feels on their arm at a stoplight.

TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejected) — the honest whole-picture number: visible light, infrared and UV combined. Two films with the same VLT can have very different TSER — this is the spec to compare.

The quick reference your counter staff should know: front side windows must let in 70%+ of light — that's exactly why 70% ceramic exists: serious heat rejection with no visible darkening, fully legal. Rear and back windows can go any shade as long as the vehicle has dual side mirrors. Windshields allow a strip on the top 4 inches only.
